Brody Mahan (2025, Honey Grove, Texas) grabs attention with the frame alone before he shows how well he translates the strong, big body to the field. Mahan showed out with the bat and arm in day one play. He spun an intriguing 2 1/3 inning appearance with six punchouts working the fastball up to 81 and flashed a tight breaking ball. Very advanced mechanics with present body control of the stocky 6-foot-4 build. He showed a deceptive operation hiding the ball well and releasing with crossfire action out of a quick short arm. He's very tough for hitters to get a good look at, especially with the downhill life. Also collected three hits in the game prior to his outing. There's plenty to be excited about from this excellent athlete with projectable pieces across his game.
