Termarr Johnson, SS, Mays High School (Ga.)

Despite the score Tuesday night, Johnson displayed unwavering determination and approach at the plate as he shot a down-and-in fastball down the right field line for a triple late in the game. At the plate, Termarr stays balanced and patient in the box as he tracks pitches well with good vision towards the plate. He walked a couple at-bats prior to his triple, displaying a sound approach with good strike zone awareness. Seen during the triple however, when it’s time to turn it loose, Johnson attacks the ball with quick hips, barrel control, and good rhythm and timing in his approach. Seen in the clip, Johnson has powerful strides and gets out of the box well, with accelerating speed around the bases, a good athletic ability, and aggressive demeanor. Plus athleticism translates from the plate to shortstop where he makes plays look easy to both sides, and pairs his sound defensive actions with strong throws to bases. A Top Prospect List honoree at last year’s PG Underclass All American Game, Johnson is currently uncommitted and will be a huge addition to any college recruiting class but will be tough to get a talent like him on campus.
