2020 was a weird year in terms of the MLB Draft. As with most of the country, baseball experienced an upheaval due to the global pandemic and, as such, future drafts and the sport entirely are going to be looking a little bit different moving forward. The 2021 draft is looking to be around 20 rounds and was moved back into mid-July which allows for another couple of weeks to be added for the age cut off concerning players who will be eligible in their second year. We’re not going to pretend to know what the official draft dates will look like in 2022 or 2023 so we’ve put these underclass lists together under the presumption that the date will remain the same as it is now. Player eligibility for each draft year will change dependent on the date but this is what the top 2022 prospects would look like if that draft took place from July 11, 2022 through July 13, 2022. Many impact freshmen are eligible to be drafted in their second year and are included this list but considering the five round draft earlier this year, the 2022 list is loaded with talent.
