WWBA Sophomore Scout Notes: Day 1

The advanced approach of Pete Craska (2023 Gibsonia, PA) was on display in the morning game when Canes National opened up pool play. Craska has a powerful 6-1, 230 pound frame that produces monster bat speed from the left side. He works counts and has no fear hitting with two strikes. The Georgia Tech commit stayed anchored with his back side and unloaded on a pitch to the opposite field gap in left centerfield for a stand up double. It jumped off the bat with huge carry. He just looks at home in the batters-box.

One of the younger players at the event, Charles Craft (2024 Umatilla, FL) has not been intimidated. He has a great high waisted 6-2, 181 pound frame with long and loose levers that he synchs well. The left-handed hitter has fluid hips and turns tight around his back side. His first at bat of the event he got extended and drove a ball deep down the right field line for a triple. The athleticism and advanced mechanics will make Craft a great young prospect to follow for the foreseeable future.
