Trent Caraway (2023, Dana Point, Calif.) is coming off what was a scorching weekend for him offensively out west at the Fall National Championship and there were no signs of him slowing here on the east coast as he picked up three hits in as many trips to the plate in his first game of the tournament. The well-built, physical righthanded hitter has one of the more mature approaches of players in the event and it shows in his ability to find the barrel as consistently as he does no matter where the pitch takes him, evidenced by a pair of his hits going to the backside while the other came on a simple line drive through the pull side. It is no doubt a power package with the physicality of the frame and how well he impacts the ball, giving him near limitless upside as he undoubtedly continues to get stronger and even more refined with the barrel through maturity, a scary thought given how well he’s performing already.
