2021 Top Prospects

Tristan Moreno  OF - 2021 - Seguin, TX
Uncommitted

Moreno wowed in a couple of different areas on the first day of the showcase as the peripheral tools are certainly impressive. He ran a blistering 6.49 second 60-yard dash, threw 89 mph from the outfield, and capped his day with an in-game, legitimate inside-the-park-home-run.

Hunter Lopacki  SS - 2021 - Cottondale, AL
Alabama State

Lopacki was extremely impressive this weekend as he played one of the best defensive shortstops in the entire event. He had a great first step and worked cleanly to and through the baseball. He was accurate with the arm from multiple slots. The overall feel for it is what stood out the most and he projects well at the position. He also put the gear on and put on a clinic behind the dish. He had soft hands as he stole strikes on the corners and held runners with ease. He hosed a kid at second from his knees as well. In the box, he flashed a short, simple swing and drove it to all fields on a line. He tripled to the right-center gap in game and cruised around the bases as he came into third standing up. Big time upside showing here in all facets of his game.

Jacob Almon  RHP - 2021 - Thompsons Station, TN
Bryan College

Almon was effective in his out working from the first base side of the rubber with his fastball that sat 82-86 mph. He showed the ability to land his curveball for a strike as well mixing in both offering over three innings effectively.

Cameron Suto  1B - 2021 - Marietta, GA
Lee University

Suto showed good athleticism as a primary first baseman he ran a 6.97 second 60 yard dash. in the field he gains good ground off the bag and does a nice job keeping his feet under him on his turns two second base with accurate throws. At the dish his swing starts with good separation as he showed the ability to back spin the baseball.

Michael Hopkinson  SS - 2021 - Mobile, AL
Samford

Hopkins showed good bat speed with an exit velocity of 93 mph. That bat speed showed up in his batting practice round with juice from the middle of the field to the pull side from his righthanded swing. He also showed good athleticism in the field as a primary short stop with clean glove actions and the ability to make the play to his left with an accurate throw on the run.

Ryan Mimbs  3B - 2021 - East Dublin, GA

Mimbs showed some nice two-way upside during the weekend as there's power in his 6-foot-3, 187-pound frame along with quality command of a low-80s arsenal on the bump. The strength at contact and jump off the barrel is evident as Mimbs was playing pepper with the left field wall during batting practice.

Samuel Smith  3B - 2021 - Lilburn, GA
Tennessee-Martin/Northwest Florida State College

Smith flashed a long, lean type frame with some room to fill but was athletic in all facets of the game. He showed well as a utility type guy. He ran a smooth 7.05 second sixty yard dash. The arm strength was relevant in both the outfield and infield as he threw it 84 mph during drills. He was very fundamental at both positions and was comfortable in games as well. In the box, the right-handed hitter worked with a short to it, long through it type cut as he drove the baseball wherever it was pitched. He also proved he could back spin the baseball and drive it deep to the pull-side.

Brandon Edwards  OF - 2021 - Madison, MS
Alabama A&M

Edwards has a lot to like from an uncommitted rising senior as he's super physical, ran a 6.6 60-yard dash, and showed big power during batting practice. Edwards has loud bat speed that is able to generate well-struck, backspun fly balls to pull while the speed and athleticism aid his game overall.

Cale Crews  C - 2021 - Bessemer, AL

Crews showed well in his workout behind the plate with simple mechanics. He was able to make accurate throws down to second base recording a 1,92 second pop time. He also showed some strength at the plate from his righthanded swing with juice to the gaps.

Kolten Durham Washington  C - 2021 - Arlington, TX
Uncommitted

Durham Washington showed very well behind the dish as he was fundamentally sound. He did a great job of blocking up baseballs and holding runners on. He recorded a 2.18 second pop time during drills and was accurate to the bag. He also swung the bat well as he utilized an all fields approach. In game, he got the bat head out front and crushed a single to the pull-side.


2022 Top Prospects

Mason Swinney  SS - 2022 - Hodges, AL
Alabama

Swinney showcased the best fastball of the event topping out at 90 mph while sitting 87-89 mph. He did a nice job keeping his fastball in the bottom third of the zone with downward tilt from his high three-quarters arms slot. he also flashed a short breaking slider in the mid 70's with good arm speed.

Wesley Miller  1B - 2022 - Anniston, AL

Miller showed well on the mound and at the plate this weekend. At the plate he registered an 88 mph exit velocity and showed power to the pull side in his batting practice round. On the mound he pounded the zone with a fastball that sat 84-86 mph and topped out at 87 mph. He also showed feel for a changeup and curveball with late 11-5 shape.

Baker Green  RHP - 2022 - Trussville, AL
Snead State CC

Green stood out behind the plate with his strength and carry on his throws down to second base. His quick transfer and short arm action allowed him to record a 1.93 second pop time. His physical 6-foot-3 190-pound build already shows some strength with room still to fill in the frame.

Harrison Freeman  1B - 2022 - Jackson, TN
Middle Tennessee State

Freeman showed well at the plate and on the mound. At the dish he showed great strength in his lefthanded swing with a 94 mph exit velocity as he proved to be a power threat to either gap. On the mound he showcased a fastball that sat 81-83 mph with arm side run and a sweeping slider.

Theodore Kummer  C - 2022 - Dallas, TX
Benedictine College (Kansas)

Kummer impressed in a big way this weekend as he was fundamentally sound in all aspects of the game. He was great behind the dish as he sat in his stance athletically and was able to spot up on the corners. He recorded a 1.98 second pop during workouts and was accurate with his throws. He also played a smooth first base with sound footwork. In the box, he generated easy whip to the barrel through the zone and proved to be a power threat. He hit a towering fly ball in game to deep center that was caught, but ultimately proved his point.

Spence Coffman  SS - 2022 - Corinth, MS
Southeastern Louisiana

Coffman showed some of his quick witch during his workouts with a 6.93 second 60. It carried over nicely into his batting practice round as he showcased his bat speed and pull side pop to go along with his 90 mph exit velocity. In the field he displayed a quick first step and strong arm ranging to the ball and topping out at 87 mph.

Thomas Hoover  RHP - 2022 - Spanish Fort, AL
Uncommitted

Hoover flashed a big, physical type build with broad shoulders and he put it to good use. He impressed on the mound as he worked with a clean operation and repeatable mechanics. He ran the fastball up to 83 mph while mixing in a plus changeup as well. He also swung the bat with authority in the box. The swing was short and simple as he worked with a gap to gap type approach.

Blake Gollott  LHP - 2022 - Saucier, MS
Pearl River CC

Gollott showed hitters some deception in his delivery landing closed a throwing with cross body action from a three-quarters arm slot. His fastball sat 80-85 mph as he did a nice job keeping it down in the zone.

Charlie Siegel  RHP - 2022 - Dallas, GA

Siegel showed well at both his primary position third base, and his secondary position behind the plate. In the infield he showed solid mechanics working through the ball with enough carry to get the ball across the diamond from any position. Behind the dish he once again showed off a solid arm throwing 80 mph down to second and recording a 1.94 pop time

Luke Hill  SS - 2022 - Port Allen, LA
Mississippi

Hill showed impressive in all facets of his workout. He ran 6.94 second 60 yard dash, topped out at 92 mph from the infield, and recorded a 92 mph exit velocity. In his batting practice round he showcased his barrel control with well hit ball in all ten swings with power to the pull side.

Zane Stokes  2B - 2022 - Mobile, AL
Coastal Alabama CC

Stokes utilized a strong set of hands as he impressed big time in the box and played a consistent middle infield. In the box, he generated whip to the barrel through the zone as he looked to do damage with every swing. He did a nice job of impacting the baseball out front while he drove it to all fields with ease. He also recorded an 86 mph exit velocity. He had great feel for the glove in the field as he scooped the baseball and made every play he was supposed to. He proved he could drop slots and be accurate as well while throwing it 78 mph during drills.

William Burgreen  SS - 2022 - Decatur, AL
Jacksonville State

Burgreen had one of the best 60 times of the event recording a 6.81. His speed translated to the game as he smoked a ball from the left side the plate and came around to score on an inside the park home run. In batting practice he displayed quick hands and the ability to get the bat head out from both sides of the plate as a switch hitter.

Buddy Micheu  3B - 2022 - Kenner, LA

Micheu carried took a solid round of batting practice and translated that into game play with a loud triple off the leftfield wall. Hisright handed swing showed plenty of intent and the ability to lift the ball with backspin regularly.

Patrick Engskov  SS - 2022 - Little Rock, AR
Oklahoma

Engskov recorded one of the top exit velocities of the event with the ball jumping off the bat at 92 mph. His righthanded swing works short and simple to the inside part of the ball with juice up the middle to the pull side.

Levi Martin  RHP - 2022 - Geraldine, AL
Jacksonville State

Martin proved to have some two-way type capabilities as he had a strong showing both on the mound and at the plate. The right-handed pitcher worked with a smooth operation as he stayed direct to the dish while filling up the zone. He released from an over the top slot while running his fastball up to 84 mph. He was able to work both sides of the dish with it and blew it by hitters. He also had feel for a slider with tilt in the low-70's and a fading changeup that had guys swinging over it. He also played a solid corner infield, the confidence in the glove was easily visible as he scooped it up and carried that arm strength from the mound, into the field. He threw it 84 mph during drills and was accurate to the bag. He also swung it with authority at the plate. He looked to drive the baseball gap to gap and found the barrel with consistency. He knew how to leverage the baseball and took a good batting practice round. Upside showing as he has feel for multiple positions, making him versatile.

Devin Brooks  RHP - 2022 - Maylene, AL
Alabama State

Brooks flashed a long, lean type frame and was very athletic in his actions. He played a rangy shortstop and made a couple very nice plays charging the baseball and throwing off-balance in games. He threw it 79 mph during drills and was accurate. Great feel showing for the position. He also impressed on the mound as he delivered from lower slot and carved hitters up. He ran the fastball up to 76 mph and pounded the strike zone once he settled in. The slider ran away from right-handed hitters and he got people to swing through it. He proved to have some reliever type looks on the bump. He also flashed a fundamentally sound swing at the dish as he looked to drive it on a line to all fields. With some physical strength gains, he could make a big jump in the box as the swing was picture perfect.

Blake Counce  2B - 2022 - Iuka, MS
Millsaps College

Counce flashed athleticism in all facets of his game as he started his workouts with a quick 6.87 second sixty yard dash. He played a solid second base while proving to have some range laterally and an accurate arm to go with it. He also swung it well in the box as he tallied a loud triple to rightfield during game action.

Ty Mancha  C - 2022 - Mobile, AL
Utah Valley University/Mississippi Gulf Coast CC

Mancha recorded one of the best pop times of the event with a 1.92 second pop time. He showed a quick transfer with good carry on the throws as he was consistently around the bag with his throws. He also showed pull side pop from the left side of the plate staying through the ball, creating backs spin.

Lawson Stricklin  C - 2022 - Decatur, AL
Tennessee Tech

Stricklin showcased strong hands in his batting practice round that translated to a 90 mph exit velocity. Behind the strength in his 5-foot-11 180-pound continued to show as he threw 81 mph down to second base and recorded a 1.94 second pop time.

Luke Hyche  RHP - 2022 - Leeds, AL

Hyche showcased a quick arm on the mound with a fastball that sat 82-85 mph. He was able to cut and run the fastball to both side of the plate from a three-quarters arm slot. He project for more velocity down the road with continued maturity.


2023 Top Prospects

Jordan Carter  OF - 2023 - Columbia, TN
Freed-Hardeman University

Carter had a solid weekend as he showcased a physically strong build. He ran a 7.00 second sixty yard dash and looked even quicker than that while on the base paths. He played a solid third base as he worked well laterally and had a strong glove. He was accurate to the bag as he threw it 79 mph during drills. At the plate, he looked to do damage with every cut and found the barrel consistently. He leveraged the baseball and was able to drive it deep, especially to the pull-side. The hit tool is far advanced and he put on a clinic during batting practice.

Aidan Bee  1B - 2023 - Clanton, AL

Bee was impressive this weekend on the mound as he utilized a physically mature 6-foot-3 215 lb build. The right-handed pitcher was balanced throughout the motion as he drove down the mound and got extended. He worked with a whippy arm while delivering from a tough three-quarter slot. He ran the fastball up to 82 mph and worked both sides of the plate. He had feel for a tight spinning slider and a plus changeup with late fade in the low-70's. The overall pitchability and build make him ultra-projectable. He also swung the bat with authority as he generated easy power while firing his hips to get the bat head through the zone. He drove it deep to the middle of the field and did so with consistency. He also played a serviceable first base. Big time upside showing in multiple facets of the game.

James Woody  3B - 2023 - Ridgeland, MS
Grambling State

Woody flashed a physical look standing at an athletic 6-foot-0 180 lb build. He played one of the best third bases from the event and went after every groundball he could. The overall hustle stood out in a big way. He also had a strong arm as he threw it 82 mph across the diamond with accuracy. In the box, he worked with a good rhythm as he put barrel on the baseball with consistency. During the games, he hammered a double down the pull-side line while knocking in a couple runs. A big compliment to him for always being in the game and ready for whatever may happen. He chatted it up on defense and proved to be a natural leader. Big time upside showing here.

Dominick Scalese  RHP - 2023 - Peachtree Corners, GA
Tulane

Scalese had a solid all a round weekend showcasing the strength in his 6-foot-170-pound frame. He showed off a strong arm from the infield and out field topping out at 89 and 88 mph respectably with good feel for the glove in both positions. His strength showed up at the plate as well with a 90 mph exit velocity with juice to the pull side.

Reese Dean  OF - 2023 - Greenwell Springs, LA
Southeastern Louisiana

Dean impressed in a big way this weekend as he was athletic and fundamentally sound in everything he did. He started his weekend off with a 6.99 second sixty yard dash. He played a rangy outfield position as he tracked baseballs down and stole base hits. He also had a great arm as he threw it 89 mph with carry on throws. In the box, he made great use of his great hand-eye coordination as he put the barrel on the baseball and used his speed to create opportunities. He was able to drive the baseball to all fields on a line as well.

Hill Gainey  C - 2023 - Gulfport, MS
East Mississippi CC

Gainey showcased well behind the dish and at the plate this weekend. The right-handed hitter generated easy power from his physical frame as he was able to back spin the baseball and drive it with authority. He proved to have some juice in the bat to the pull-side as well when he got extended. Behind the dish, he proved to have some feel for framing the baseball and had a strong arm to go with it as he recorded a 2.02 second pop time. He also impressed on the mound as he was up to 79 mph and struck out two batters on six pitches.

Walker Allen  SS - 2023 - Birmingham, AL
Snead State CC

Allen showed good barrel control in his round of batting practice with a fundamentally sound swing from the right side of the plate. He carried that over into game play with a hard hit double. Defensively he plays smooth and under control with a solid glove and quick transfer as he gets the ball across the diamond quickly.

Cannon Miller  C - 2023 - Clanton, AL
Southern Union State CC

Miller had a solid showing this weekend as he was reliant behind the dish and proved to have some feel in the outfield as well. Behind the dish, he blocked up baseballs with ease and had a strong arm to top it off as he recorded a 1.95 second pop time. In the outfield, he took clean routes and carried his weight well into throws as he threw it 82 mph during drills. At the plate, he flashed a short and simple type cut as he threw hands at the baseball while he found barrels with every swing he took in batting practice.

Jack Brafa  RHP - 2023 - Medina, TN
Tennessee Tech

Brafa had a stellar outing on the mound as he carved hitters up. The right-handed pitcher was direct to the dish and did a nice job of tunneling his pitches. He ran the fastball up to 83 mph and mixed in a late fading changeup that was nasty. Also flashed feel for a slurvy type breaking ball. He went right after hitters and was efficient in his work. He struck out the first two hitters he faced and was confident throughout his outing. He also played a solid third base. Clean gathers out front and shuffled into a quick transfer and release. Accurate to the bag and threw it 84 mph during drills. Swung the bat with authority as he looked to drive the baseball back up the middle on a line and was successful in doing so.

Jack Millin  C - 2023 - McAllen, TX
Texas San Antonio

Millin showed well behind the plate with some physicality in his frame. He worked light on his feet gaining ground with a quick transfer and accurate arm recording a 1.97 pop time. In his batting practice round he routinely found the barrel working gap to gap with a short simple swing.

Cale Latimer  RHP - 2023 - Bossier City, LA

Latimer had a very strong weekend as the 6-foot-3, 210-pound righthander showed a ton to like. He worked up to 86 mph on the bump with command, feel, and three pitches while he also flashed some big power during batting practice.


2024 Top Prospects

Samuel Richardson  3B - 2024 - Olive Branch, MS
Texas

Richardson showed solid power from the right side of the plate, recording a 93 mph exit velocity. That power translated to the game field with a triple on day one of the showcase. His righthanded swing gets on plane with the pitch early and has strength through contact. He project for even more power moving forward as he continues to grow and fill out his 6-foot-185-pound frame.

Mason Gillentine  C - 2024 - Tupelo, MS
Uncommitted

GIllentine displayed his quick arm on the mound working from a high three-quarters arm slot with a fastball that sat 81-84 mph. He backed the fastball with a pair of breaking balls, a curveball in the mid 60's, and slider in the low 70's. His feel for all three offering allowed him to throw any pitch in any count.

Hank Eaton  RHP - 2024 - Corinth, MS
Auburn

Eaton was dominate in his two innings on the mound retiring all six batters he faced in order. He showcased a two pitch mix with a fastball that sat 81-84 mph with arm side run from a whippy three-quarters arm slot. The second offering, a sweeping breaking ball in the low 70's, showed tight spin as he landed for strikes regularly with the ability to get swings and misses out of the zone as well. .

Matthew Osteen  RHP - 2024 - Byhalia, MS
Louisiana-Lafayette

Osteen's athleticism is advanced and this aids him not only on the mound but in all facets of his game. He worked into the low-80s with the fastball, showing the aforementioned athleticism in his delivery with two quality offspeed pitches in his breaking ball and changeup.
