John Pearson (2024 West Monroe, La.) might just be one of the more versatile players in his class. The 6-0, 205 pound Pearson spent time in left-field, right-field, third base, and was extremely effective in his appearance on the bump. Defensively he does a nice job at each spot with a good first step and plenty of arm strength to play anywhere on the diamond. When he took the ball on the bump in the semi-finals he ran his fastball up to 85 mph while sitting 80-83 mph and locating to both sides of the plate. He would mix in a breaking ball as well with late bite in the low 70’s with 11-5 shape. At the plate Pearson finished the tournament hitting a cool .500 with four singles and four doubles with four runs driven in. His right-handed swing keeps the barrel in the hitting zone for a long time allowing him to drive balls to all fields with intent.
