16u Elite Championship Scout Notes: Day 1


Gavin Miller (2022, Oakdale, Pa.) has already established himself as a prospect on the national front having already committed to Auburn and is currently ranked No. 79 in the class, but throughout his at-bats over the first two days he has continued to justify the early accolades. Strongly built with a listed 6-0, 185 pound frame, Miller gives off a sense of being relaxed at the plate, maintaining his balance well throughout his load before letting the barrel fly, usually resulting in squared up contact. He’s currently hitting .500 at the conclusion of pool play and picked up a pair of well struck singles in the first game of his team’s double header, generating plenty of barrel speed through the zone as he first went to left field before shooting a pitch back up the middle. A near .400 career hitter at Perfect Game events, it’s only a matter of time before the power component of his game starts to show up as he currently works with a more direct and linear approach though the results speak for themselves and there’s plenty of jump coming off.
