Gavin Grahovac, c, Class of 2023
Commitment: Arizona State

The Sun Devils have had success recruiting out of the talent rich state that is California and they’ve recently added a potential impact bat in the righthanded hitting Grahovac. Strongly built at 6-foot, 165-pounds, Grahovac is only going to fill out with added physicality moving forward though his skills on the diamond already stand out. His offensive profile is the drawing card as he shows rhythm and balance through his lower half while staying short but fast to the ball with his hands and generating extension out front. Grahovac controls the barrel well with just how short he is to the ball, showing the ability to adjust to off speed pitches recognized out of the hand. The athleticism plays in his defensive actions behind the plate as well, showing solid catch-and-throw skills with nice carry on his throws down to second base. As Grahovac fills out physically keep eyes on this young Californian bat.

Outlook for the class: The Sun Devils aren’t as far along with their 2023 class as other programs in the country, but Grahovac and talented outfielder Derrick Mitchell form an excellent duo to start the class for Arizona State. Currently ranked No. 199 in class, the staff once again pulled a talented piece out of California and landing a talented backstop like Grahovac at such an early point in the recruiting process is huge.
