Two weeks into the regular season and we welcome the first new No. 1 team, the Florida Gators. While both Louisville and Vanderbilt held onto their preseason Nos. 1 and 2 designations despite going 1-2 over the first weekend of the year, Florida is now 8-0 on the year after sweeping Miami on the road.

As we've become accustomed to in recent years, Florida once again appears to have the most dangerous weekend starting staff in the nation, moving freshman Hunter Barco into the Sunday role to follow live-armed junior righthanders Tommy Mace and Jack Leftwich. The bullpen offers impressive depth and the lineup is starting to see more and more star power emerge, none more obvious than their dynamic leadoff hitting center fielder Jud Fabian. And while there were plenty of players that stepped up to enjoy big moments over the weekend, sophomore outfielder Jacob Young in particular had a strong showing against the Canes.

Louisville and Vanderbilt both had winning weeks but were effectively leap-frogged by the Gators, holding steady at Nos. 2 and 3. Texas Tech and Arkansas also moved down one spot in the rankings due to Florida's rise to the top despite having winning weeks.

Overall it was a strong week for the teams in the Top 25, going 87-20 combined. Only three teams that remain among the ranked endured losing weeks: Miami, Michigan and Auburn. Stanford is the first team to fall out of PG's College Top 25 after an 0-4 week and a 1-6 start overall, after opening the season ranked 15th.

With Stanford falling out of the rankings one spot became available which made it tough for the five teams that all received legitimate consideration for being added to the Top 25. In the end Tennessee got the nod over Dallas Baptist – who won a big road series over North Carolina – after winning the inaugural Round Rock Classic. The Vols got the job done by beating Texas Tech on Friday, Houston on Saturday and the team they replaced in the rankings, Stanford, on Sunday. Tennessee is now 7-0 on the young season with a 74-14 run scoring differential.
