After breaking down the top recruiting classes from the 2020 class, and the top 10 from the class of 2021, below is a quick (and very early) look at the top 5 programs for the college recruiting class of 2022.





1. Virginia

Full 2022-23 Recruiting Class

This is our first time covering the Cavaliers during our coverage of the NLI period, though there is plenty of talent in their 2020 and 2021 crops. However, their 2022 class is currently at the next level with plenty of impact talent throughout. Righthander Jack O’Connor is one of the top arms in the country thanks an ultra-projectable 6-foot-5, 217-pound build to go along with a fastball that has topped out at 91 mph and an overall ease of operation that has led to plenty of strikes. A trio of PG Select Festival alum follow in the rankings with athletic outfielder Nathan Fink, physical backstop Ethan Anderson and righthander Kevin Jaxel out of New Jersey. Both Fink and Anderson have put their power on display, and though built differently, have impact tools offensively while Jaxel has a chance to be a dominant arm, already working in the upper-80s with a feel for his secondary pitches. Righthander Evan Dobias is similar to Jaxel in that he runs his fastball into the upper-80s and shows four distinct pitches for strikes and was superb at Perfect Game events throughout 2019. Lefthanders are aplenty in this group with Donovan Zsak, Evan Blanco and Bradley Hodges, all of whom currently work in the mid-80s and shows quality pitchability. Position prospects like shortstops Henry Godbout and catcher Mason Balsis provide quality depth and standout tools at premium positions.
