Indoor League Playoff Preview

ALL TIMES CENTRAL

DRBA Black 18u was led to the facility title and Nation's #1 overall seed behind scorching hot bats through the entire regular season. Johnathan Blake led the way for the black team posting a .474 batting average including 20 extra base hits with 14 doubles 5 triples and one home run. Luke Kuennen followed closely behind Blake with a .429 batting average. Alex Reavell and Matthew Hirsch each collected six doubles and 14 RBIs on the teams way to the facility championship. DRBA Black looks to stay unbeaten and run the table to the 18U National Title!

#2 Southworth Black (11-1) vs Winner of #15 and #18

Southworth Black 18u secured the facility title behind multiple strong session long performances. Nick Ripa lead the team in batting average posting a .649 average followed closely by 2018 session II 16U MVP Trevor Barajas at .554 and Trey Frahm (Kansas State) at .526. The black team benefited from clutch hitting with gaudy RBI numbers up and down their roster. Frahm the Kansas State Wildcat commit posted 24 RBIs to lead the team followed by 22 from current teammate and future rival Wichita State Shocker commit Noah Greise. Frahm and Greise also showed their power popping 8 and 6 home runs respectively. Brayden Bock was driving the ball through the outfield the entire session collecting 11 extra base hits including 9 doubles, 1 triple and a home run.

#3 PG Black (9-1) vs Winner of #14 and #19

Perfect Game HQ's facility Champion was no surprise this session as PG Black 18U came away with another Regular Season Title. PG Black has had a incredible production from all 3 hitters this session. Undisputed leader and MVP candidate Andrue Henry (Kirkwood CC Commit) has crushed a PGNIL record 45 HR and has hit for a .695 clip this session. Uncommitted 2020 Joseph Harris (Marshalltown, IA) is hitting .533 and has drove in 33 RBI while Konstantinos Papazoglou (Mt Mercy University Commit) has hit for .475 and drove in 25 RBI.

#4 DSA North (8-1) vs Winner of #13 and #20

DSA North enjoyed a successful campaign on their way to the 18u facility championship. Kirkwood Eagle Signee Evan Paulus belted 14 home runs and drove in 36 RBIs on his way to a team high .612 batting average. Perfect Game National Showcase participant and currently uncommitted Josh Fitzgerald confirmed his impressive accolades from last year by posting a .593 batting average while blasting an impressive max exit velocity of 101 miles per hour. Avery Mellman and Reese Moore both posted batting averages north of .450 while Mitchell Holloran collected 12 RBIs and put up an exit velocity of 91 miles per hour.

#5 PE Diamondbacks (10-2) vs Winner of #12 and #21

PE Diamondbacks secured the facility championship at Player's Edge in Wayne, New Jersey behind a balanced attack from all 3 hitters. Matthew Brown leads the team in average at .558 and RBI at 28. Orin Winslow is the National leader in max exit velo at 103.6! Steve Rabe has crushed 3 HR and has hit for a .404 while tying teammate Matt Brown in RBI at 28.

#6 DBC Dragons Navy (9-3) vs Winner of #11 and #22

DBC Dragons Navy 18u enjoyed another impressive session romping their way to the Dothan facility title. As we are all becoming used to the Navy team was lead by Auburn Commit Chase Allsup. Allsup collected 124 hits in 203 at bats posting a .611 batting average. To go with the high average Allsup flaunted his power with 97 extra base hits including 43 home runs. Trent Weatherly was close behind Allsup for the average title with a .553 batting average. Carter Fanning flashed impressive power potential the entire first session with 22 extra base hits including 21 doubles and 1 home run.

#7 PE Marlins (8-2) vs #10 DSA Maroon (8-4)

PE Marlins

The PE Marlins were led by Socarates Bardatsos and Niko Mokanos, who both hit for a respective .477 and .475 average while splitting the season between clubs. Zachary Bailey and Nicholas Adamo round out the club, both hitting well over .300. This club has a balanced attack with all hitters hitting for average and could be a dangerous out.

DSA Maroon

DSA Maroon 18u was lead by TCU commit Carter Baumler who posted impressive numbers throughout the entire session. Baumler was able to collect 30 doubles, 8 triples and 5 home runs while posting a .646 batting average and 103.5 mile per hour exit velocity. Colin Cook was a tough out in the second session posting a .607 batting average. Adam Brauch drove in 30 runs while posting a .557 batting average. Adam Brauch and Sam Young were both able to post batting averages over .400 as well  making this team an interesting watch for the national championship.

#8 PG Orange (8-2) vs #9 DSA Camo (8-2)

PG Orange

PG Orange 18u was able to reach the national playoffs behind efforts from Perfect Game part time employees Michael Weiss and Alex Greene. Weiss lead the team with a .532 batting average while posting a max exit velocity of 93.7 miles per hour. Greene followed closely behind Weiss with a .528 batting average and a team leading 49 RBIs. Dylan Schultz posted a .484 batting average with 11 doubles and a 94.2 mile per hour exit velocity.

DSA Camo

DSA Camo fell one game short of the facility championship in a hard-fought battle. Leading the camo team was Casey Young (Northwestern Commit) and Logan Smith (South Dakota State Commit) who each posted .590 and .579 batting averages respectively. Combined Young and Smith tallied 70 extra base hits combined including 20 home runs. Jalen Martinez and Parker Shupe didn’t let Young and Smith have all the fun combining for 48 extra base hits and 70 RBI.

#11 DSA Silver (8-4) vs #22 PE Rays (5-5-2)

DSA Silver

DSA Silver 18u garnered a playoff berth behind tremendous efforts from each of its members. Leading the way was Iowa Hawkeye commit Alec Nigut. Nigut drove in 60 runs while hitting 16 home runs on his way to a .609 batting average. Alex Pendergast belted 5 home runs and 38 doubles on the road to driving in 41 runs and a .551 batting average. Beck Anshutz gave Pendergast a run for the second best batting average on the team falling one point short with a .550 average. Sam Nicolino had his say in the teams production driving in 23 RBIs while smoking a max exit velocity of 98.7 miles per hour.

 PE Rays

The PE Rays were the final at large to earn a bid into the PGNIL National Playoffs, sneaking in with a .500 regular season record. Jacob Prieto leads the team in average and has hit at a .429 clip and drove in 8 runs while teammate Jack D'Emilia leads the team in RBI at 14.  

#12 PE Rangers (8-2-2) vs #21 Southworth Green (7-5)

PE Rangers

The PE Rangers have used timely hitting all season to get to 8-2-2 and now enter the playoffs as the #12 overall seed. Michael Roman is the team leader in average and RBI at .467 and 7 respectively. Brothers Peyton and Tyler Mikita have both had solid showings, hitting over .300 each while Rocco Ambrogio has been a cog in the lineup, hitting .345 with 6 RBI.

Southworth Green 

Southworth Green 18u enjoyed a successful session coming up one game short of the facility title. The green team was paced by a team full of eye popping batting averages. Tanner Lukowski (Fort Hayes State) lead the team with a .717 batting average followed by Jacob Legleiter (Mars Hill) at .643. Wyatt Anderson (South Dakota State) and Reilly Kirkpatrick (USC-Upstate) posted  .500 and .545 batting averages respectively they were also to both collect 14 extra base hits. Trevor Stevens was making loud contact throughout the entire session posting 17 extra base hits

#13 PE Yankees (8-3-1) vs #20 DSA Royal (7-6)

PE Yankees

TJ Roman and Justice Welsh have absolutely crushed for the PE Yankees this season and could make some noise come playoff time. Roman has hit .493 with 25 RBI while Justice Welsh continues his tear this session with a .504 clip and 30 RBI. Dante Tedesco has split the season splitting teams and has hit .552 on the year.

DSA Royal 

DSA Royal was lead to the playoffs behind a gaudy batting average from Jayden Singleton at .667 including an astonishing 81 RBIs. Gabriel Followell was able to put up a .535 batting average as well as driving in 39 runs. Aidan Brown and Will Armstrong combined posted 49 RBIs rounding out the production for the Royal team

#14 PE Brewers (6-3-1) vs #19 DRBA Purple (4-2-4)

PE Brewers

The PE Brewers are 6-3-1 on the year and are lead by Andrew McDermott, who is hitting .475 on the season. Joe DeSena and Brenden Gallagher also have eclipsed the .300 average total while driving in 4 and 19 runs. 

DRBA Purple

The DRBA Purple team secured a playoff spot via a wildcard while coming in as runner up at Dusty Rogers Baseball Academy in Dubuque, Iowa. Jack Dostal is the team leader in average (.383) while Ryne Gruenwald has 6 RBI on the season, a team high. The team is very well balanced with nearly every player hitting at or around .300.

#15 PG Navy (6-4) vs #18 PE Mariners (5-5-2)

PG Navy

It was a family affair for the Stallmans leading PG Navy 18u all the way to the national playoffs. Zac Stallman lead the team with a .559 batting average and a maximum exit velocity at 94 miles per hour. Reed Stallman was able to collect hits in over half of his at bats as well posting a .511 batting average. Austin Stallman was able to put up a .333 batting average with 9 RBIs.

PE Mariners

The PE Mariners come in as one of the final wildcards out of Player's Edge in Wayne, New Jersey. Zach Hochheiser has hit .459 with 1 HR and 27 RBI while teammate Alejandro Zayas has hit .382 while split between divisions.

#16 PE Steelers (2-1-2) vs #17 DSA Pink (7-5)

PE Steelers

The PE Steelers and led by Nicholas Panissidi and Nicholas Piccinich, Joe Lombardo,  and Frank Conforti. All 4 players ae sitting around .400 mark average wise.

DSA Pink 

DSA Pink grabbed a playoff spot with consistent production from multiple players on the team. Leading the effort was Kip Cullinan who was able to put up a .567 batting average and a exit velocity of 99.7 miles per hour. Ty Cowley put up a team high 6 triples in the second session on his way to a .495 average. Brock Heinen lead the way as far as production for the team driving in 41 runs. Grant Purcell mashed his way to a .409 batting average.

ALL TIMES CENTRAL

DSA Capitals 16u was dominant this session posting an 11 and 1 record on their way to the facility championship. Aiden McGee lead the way for the Capitals with eye popping stats. McGee was able to put up a .690 batting average while also belting 20 home runs and driving in 81 runs. Charlie Corell enjoyed a successful session as well putting up a .496 batting average. Caleb Corbin and Derek Einertson helped the domination for their team adding .461 and .425 batting averages respectively.

#2 PE Red Sox (10-0-2) vs Winner of #7 vs. #10

 The PE Red Sox may be one of the early favorites to win the 16U division. They are led by the nation's #26 ranked played in the 2022 class in Naz Mule, who has hit .429 on the year. Duke baseball commit Generoso Romano has hit ..476 on the season and has flashed an impressive 95.9 exit velo at the 16U level. Ryan Myles is hitting .515. The team is rounded out by Myles Nova who is leading the team in average at .561 and RBI at 34.  

#3 DSA DM Cubs (9-3) vs #14 PG Red (6-4)

DSA DM Cubs

DSA DM Cubs was able to edge out DSA Green 16u for the facility Championship. Justin Hackett posted a team high 92.4 exit velocity while also posting a .510 batting average. Nick Meyer was able to drive in 17 runs while also putting up an average of .476. Mason Morrow and Ben Tessau combined for 25 RBIs giving much needed production to the Cubs.

PG Red

PG Red 16u earned a spot in the national playoffs with their second-place facility finish in Cedar Rapids. Leading the way for the red team was Jake Trca posting a .442 batting average to go along with his 8 runs driven in. Parker Smith and Cael Hodges enjoyed successful sessions as well posting .386 and .375 batting averages respectively. Luke Kehril hit the hardest ball for the red team in the second session with a max exit velocity of 87.9 miles per hour.

#4 PG Navy (7-2-1) vs #13 DSA Hawks (7-7)

PG Navy

PG Navy 16u was able to win the facility title posting a 7-2-1 record in the second session. The navy team was led to the playoffs behind the hot bats of Griffin Maloney and Ethan Shimak. Maloney posted a .390 batting average to go along with 10 RBI. Shimak was close behind Maloney with a .382 batting average adding 5 RBIs to the team tally. Luke Potter was able to post a team high exit velocity at 84.2 miles per hour.

DSA Hawks

DSA Hawks 16u earned a playoff birth behind impressive efforts from multiple players. Zach Kain lead the production for the hawks. Zach posted a .589 batting average with 8 RBIs. Dillon Kuehl showed consistent power throughout the entire session posting 23 extra base hits with 17 RBIs while posting a .407 batting average. Joshua Hoffman, Bode Barnes and Dawson Roberts all posted batting averages above .297 for the hawks 

#5 Southworth Black (8-4) vs #12 DSA Navy (7-5)

Southworth Black

Southworth Black 16u was lead to the 16u facility title by Ethan Hergert. The Elkhorn native tallied thirty-three hits in sixty six at bats totaling an impressive .500 batting average. To go along with his eye-popping batting average Hergert collected 22 extra base hits including 9 doubles and 13 home runs. Also posting a .500 batting average was Kaben Steenbock, along with his impressive batting average Steenbock belted 11 doubles and 1 triple while only striking out one time throughout the session. Brady Christensen and Cooper Panneton enjoyed successful sessions as well posting .393 and .371 batting averages respectively.

DSA Navy

DSA Navy 16u did not have a player with a batting average under .364 helping them claim a birth in the national playoffs. Leading the team with a .500 batting average was Dylan Sams getting a hit in 40 of his 80 at bats. Tucker Langenberg put up a .468 batting average while posting a team high exit velocity of 91.1 miles per hour. Kolin Perez led the production for the team driving a team high 21 runs while posting a .464 batting average. Camden Troncin and Grant Dekruyf combined for 24 RBIs creating nice production for the navy team.

#6 DRBA Red (0-3-7) vs #11 DSA Yellow (7-5)

DRBA Red

DRBA Red 16u garnered a playoff birth as the only 16U team in the facility playing up a division.The were led by strong performances throughout the sessio by Tanner Buol who lead the team with a .231 batting average to go along with 3 extra base hits. Adam Lange posted a .167 batting average good enough for second on his team.

DSA Yellow

DSA Yellow was led to the playoffs by very recent Iowa Hawkeye commit Ryan Reyerson who posted a National Record high exit velocity at 105.4 miles per hour. Reyerson was also able to pound 19 doubles 6 triples and 4 home runs on his way to a .622 batting average. Wesley Hamor posted a .524 batting average good enough for second on the team. Archer Ogbourne, Jack Lenhart and Kinnick Christensen all hit over .300 for the yellow team helping them secure their playoff bid.

#7 DSA Green (9-4) vs #10 Southworth Blue (8-4)

DSA Green

DSA Green 16u finished third place in a hotly contested 16u contest at Diamond Sports Academy. Lead by Iowa Hawkeye commit Gehrig Christensen who was able to drive in 41 runs while collecting 24 extra base hits posting a .625 batting average. Closely following Gehrig was Jaden Harrel who was able to post a .538 batting average while driving in 19 runs. Ethan Drown, Drew Dykstra and Rece Heinen were all able to post batting averages well over .400 in session two

Southworth Blue

Garrett Freeman lead the way to a second place facility finish for the Southworth Blue 16u team. Freeman was able to post an impressive 1.173 slugging percentage, While also hammering 22 extra base hits including 16 doubles, two triples and four home runs. Austin Sides and Jackson Horn also enjoyed successful sessions for the blue team driving in 17 runs combined while also posting batting averages over .400.

#8 PE Patriots (6-3-2) vs #9 DSA Warriors (8-6)

PE Patriots

Nick Giannattsio has been very impressive for the PE Patriots this year, hitting .368 on the year. Andrew Devoto has 6 RBI to lead the team. Robert Mesropyan leads the team in batting average at .405 this second session.

DSA Warriors

DSA Warriors 16u enjoyed a successful session with multiple players with gaudy batting averages. Leading the way for the warriors were John Doty and Jacob Barton each posting .534 batting averages. Doty bopped 25 doubles while Barton added 14 doubles. Jackson Wentworth and Joe White didn’t let Doty and Barton have all the fun. The two posted .457 and .420 batting averages respectively.

ALL TIMES CENTRAL

DSA Knights 14u won the facility championship behind strong efforts from Each member of their team. Max Burt was able to post a .606 batting average while also driving in 92 runs and hitting 36 home runs. Sam Harris posted a .595 batting average while driving in 40 runs and hitting 35 extra base hits. Douglas Taylor and Padraig Gallagher didn’t let the other two have all the fun combining for 60 RBIs and hitting .536 and .449 respectively.

PG Red 14u was dominant in the second session on their way to the facility championship. Trey Franck lead the way for the red team posting a .593 batting average including 13 doubles and 38 RBIs. Myles Davis posted 42 RBIs while getting hits in 71 of his 121 at bats leading to a .587 batting average. Peyton Hodges and Karson Grout combined for 49 RBIs and posted .527 and .457 batting averages respectively.

PE Astros

The PE Astros come in as the facility's 2nd to last wildcard. Quentin Ocampo has been the star of the group, hitting .333 and driving in 5 runs. Xavier Mieles leads the team in average, sitting at .368 while Billy Mareski has added 9 runs scored 9 of his own.

#3 DBC Dragons Navy (8-3-1) vs #14 PE Cardinals (8-3-8)

DSA Green

DBC Dragons Navy 14u won the facility title at one of our more consistently competitive facilities. Mikey Vanderheyden lead the navy team with a .497 batting average. To go along with the sky high batting average Mikey collected 68 extra base hits. Luke Nelson enjoyed a fun session as well hitting .496 with 38 RBIs. Trent Weatherly didn’t let everyone else have the fun, Trent was able to put up a .486 batting average with 31 RBIs and 7 doubles.

PE Cardinals

 The PE Cardinals are 8-3-8 and come into the playoffs as a bit of an unknown as many players have been fillins everywhere this season. Elan Ofeck and James Gordon are the two main cogs, hitting .450 and .374 a piece. Ofeck also leads the team in RBI at 21. Aiden Masi and Nicholas Avagnano are both hitting over .300 to round out the cardinals.

The Cowboys are a very well balanced team and can go on runs. Each player is at least hitting over .300 on the season with the majority of them hitting over .400. The team leader in average is Brandon Kirchner, sitting at .489 on the season while the team lead in RBI is tid between Stephen Kubis and and Justin Pierre.

DBC Dragons Royal

DSA Moonshots garnered a playoff spot in the second session. Leading the way for the moon shots was Bryce Higgins who was able to post a .488 batting average while driving in 16 runs. Brady Eklund put up a .439 batting average while driving in 10 runs. Zach Turpin and Pratim Amin combined for 40 RBI while Pratim was able to post a team high exit velocity at 89.4 miles per hour.

DSA DM Cubs was led to the playoffs behind two scorching hot bats. Leading the way was Ty Plummer who posted a .534 batting average, driving in 39 runs. Right behind Plummer was George Nahas who was able to drive in 38 runs while collecting 6 triples and posting a .489 batting average. Easton miller was able to add to the teams production with 10 RBI and a team high 92.3 mile per hour exit velocity

DBC Dragons Grey

DBC Dragons Grey 14u earned a playoff birth with a second-place finish at the Dothan facility. Brody Lindsey led the way for the grey team posting a .441 batting average. Lindsey was also able to drive in 16 runs good enough for second place in RBIs behind Blake Wynn who drove in 17 runs.

PG Silver 14u earned a playoff spot behind strong efforts from each member of the team. William Murrin posted a .504 batting average with 15 RBIs and 15 doubles. Caden Postma belted 16 doubles while posting a .455 batting average. John Schultz posted a .357 batting average with 18 RBIs.

PE Angels

Joe Sabbath has been the unquestioned leader for the PE Angels, driving in 14 RBI while hitting for a scorching .552 aerage. The team is 3-1-2 overall. Alan Rodriguez is hitting .333 for the team and has driven in 3 RBI.

ALL TIMES CENTRAL

DBC Dragons Navy 12u won the facility championship behind loud hot bats. Mikey Vanderheyden was able to continue his success he had in the 14u division posting a .662 batting average with 51 RBIs and 43 extra base hits including 5 home runs. Tanner Beasley posted a .489 batting average to complement Vanderheyden's production. Frank Wells was productive through the entire session for the navy team tallying 66 RBIs and 62 extra base hits with 31 doubles and 29 triples. This could be a team to watch for the 12u national championship.

#2 PE Indians (10-1) vs #7 PG Black (3-3)

PE Indians

The PE Indians come in as one of the favorites to win the 12U division. Led by Patrick Van Notes crazy stat line of .721 avg, and 28 RBI, this team has all 4 players hitting above .400. Kyle D'Argenio leads the team in RBI with 35.

PG Black

PG Black 12u gained a spot in the national playoffs as well behind hot bats from Tait Tierney and Izak Eliers who were able to combine for 10 RBIs while both posting batting averages well over .400. Ethan Hoekstra didn’t let those two have all the fun adding 9 hits and 2 RBIs to the teams tally.

#3 PG Red (9-0-1) vs #6 PE Eagles (8-4-1)

PG Red

PG Red 12u was the facility champion in the second session behind solid efforts from Jake Miller, Jaxton Schroeder and Tanner Buresh. Miller was able to drive in 19 RBIs while collecting 16 extra base hits on his way to a .513 batting average. Schroeder tallied 13 extra base hits and 14 RBIs while hitting a sizzling .493. Tanner Buresh posted a .349 batting average while driving in 11 runs

PE Eagles

The PE Eagles were one of the wildcards out of Players Edge in Wayne, New Jersey. Anthony Blackford has hit .667 in 27 AB while Dean Sosa has hit .558 and drove in 10 RBI. The team is rounded out by Andres Mollinedo and Alex Les, who are both hitting over .300 each.  

#4 Southworth Black vs #5 PE Bears (7-3)

Southworth Black

Southworth Black is the automatic bid from Southworth Hitting in La Vista, Nebraska. They played non-official crossover games against Diamond Sports Academy as a preparation for the playoffs.

PE Bears

  The PE Bears have had a balanced attack that led them to the facility runner up from Players Edge in Wayne, New Jersey. The top 3 average hitters, Pami, Gantaifis, Lora and last session's MVP Liam Riley are all hitting over .400 on the season. Andrw Pami has collected 19 RBI and Chris Gantaifis sits at 18.

#8 PE Saints (4-6) vs #9 PG Green (0-5-1)

PE Saints

The Saints earned the final spot in the playoffs out of Players Edge. JP Zayle is hitting well over .500 with Jason Roser not too far behind at .459. The team is very well balanced as read more like a middle seed, with every player hitting over .300.

PG Green

PG Green 12u earned a third place facility finish and a spot in the national playoffs. The Green team was lead to the playoffs behind the bat of James Perkins who was able to post a .547 batting average with 13 extra base hits. Charlie Thurston and Ben Meyers were able to combine for 4 RBIs and 25 hits for the green team on their way to the national playoffs
