4/21 Game Recaps

12U Southeast Championship
April 21, 2018


8:00 AM- Alex Camarca and Jackson Geiger led Gulf Coast Waves to a win over Naples Cyclones combining for 3 hits and 4 RBI's. Alden Roberts from the Waves threw 3 innings striking out 3 and only letting up one run. For the Cyclones, Braden Johnson legged out a triple in the bottom of the first in addition to Gabriel Espinoza, Justin Trometer, and Rodriguez's singles.

Gulf Coast Monarchs got a great win against Florida Force as Monarchs pitcher, Alex Kuenzle, threw 4.1 innings scoreless innings, striking out 13, and only letting up 1 hit by Force third baseman, Isaac Perez. On the offensive side, the Monarchs were led by Fidel Alviar IV who knocked in 3 RBI's.

10:00 AM- Sarasota Sting got the win against Florida Force with a final score 6-3. Hunter Wineka led the Sting with 2 hits while Joey Jurgielewicz led them with 2 RBI's. They threw four pitchers who combined for 7 strikeouts and only 4 hits. Anthony Velazquez from the Force led their team with 2 hits while James Gil and Bryan Calderon both tacked on an RBI.

Gulf Coast Monarchs got their second win of the day, this time against PBA Outlaws. Matt Turner and Alex Kuenzle both had a pair of hits while Kuenzle also knocked in a team high 4 RBI's. Kyle Klaric threw 4 innings for them striking out 5. PBA Outlaws were led offensively by Justin Breitenstein who had 2 hits and 2 RBI's.

12:00 PM- Gulf Coast Waves get their second win of the day with this one being against Boca Hitmen. Ryder Woodson was the star of this game pitching a no-hitter in 4 innings and striking out 3. The Waves had multiple players with two hits as well as Jett Voltz with a team leading 3 hits. Harry Housler led the team in RBI's with 2.

PBA Outlaws and Sarasota Sting played a close game but PBA ended up on top 3-0. Anthony Pimentel and Justin Breitenstein both had a team high two hits for PBA while Cole Young threw 4 innings, striking out 3. The Sting were once again led in hits by Hunter Wineka with 2.

2:00 PM- Kangaroo Court and pitcher Justin Marshall had a great outing against Phoenix Prime to start their day. Marshall threw 4 innings, striking out 3, and only letting up 2 hits. Kangaroo Court's offense was led by Jordi Dominguez who finished with 2 hits and 2 RBI's. Wess Henry and Branyan Callaway both grabbed hits for Phoenix Prime.

West Pines Cobras exploded on offense for a win against South Florida Spikes. Their 2 and 3 hitters, Aidan Aguila and Jordan Perez, combined for 5 hits and 7 RBI's. They had a committee of pitchers who combined for 6 strikeouts while only letting up 2 runs on 1 hit.

Florida Sox's 3 and 4 hitters, J. Merdona and A. Palomine led the way in their win over Naples Cyclones as Merdona had 3 hits and Palomine with 3 RBI's. E. Monrade threw a complete game for the Sox striking out 5 on his way to a win. Wyatt Tesar led the Cyclones in hitting with 2 hits and 4 RBI's including a double.

4:00 PM- In a big game of Kangaroo Court vs West Pines Cobras, Kangaroo Court hung on late to close out the game and win 2-1. Ryan Winkler pitched a great game throwing 5 scoreless innings on 3 hits. Cooper Consiglio helped out offensively with a single and run scored. Jordan Perez of the Cobras also pitch well in 3.1 innings only letting up 1 run on 1 hit and striking out 3.

Florida Sox exploded offensively scoring 13 runs in a win against Boca Hitmen. S. Gordon led the team with 3 hits while J. Merdona and A. Palomine led the team with 3 RBI's. B. Murphy threw a great 3.1 scoreless innings striking out 3 and only giving up 2 hits. Erick Soto for the Hitmen had a good game at the plate with two hits.

Phoenix Prime and South Florida Spikes played in a close one but the Spikes came out on top 4-3 behind Andrew Stillwill's 2 hits and 1 RBI. Nolan Bittner pitched 5 innings, struck out 5, and only let up 1 earned run on 4 hits. Jake Penney had 1 hit and 1 RBI for Phoenix Prime.
