Yoanis Aleksandrov is a 2023 C/1B with a 6-3 229 lb. frame from Sofia, SF who attends Italy. Big and strong build, stands out physically. Very good straight ahead runner for his size, 6.77 in the sixty. Has good fundamentals behind the plate defensively, receives the ball cleanly and has pretty polished footwork shifting and throwing, repeats his actions well, good raw arm strength, can get long on his exchange and release at times. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a deep hand load, full effort lean and lift power swing approach, looking to drive the ball and has the strength and bat speed to do so on his pitch, may benefit from cutting down his swing at times for more consistent barrels. Interesting European athlete and player with a ceiling, would like to see him more in game action. Named to the World Showcase Top Prospect List.
