Spencer Park is a 2008 C/RHP with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Foster City, CA, who attends San Mateo HS. Park has a lean and loose body that is very projectable. Park was one of the top catcher's at the event. He showed very good arm strength (80 mph) behind the plate. He has a very quick release to go along with his arm strength that produced sub 2.00 pop times. Park has the ability to stop an opponent's running game. He also uses his quickness to block balls in the dirt well. He is an advanced defensive catcher. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with solid bat speed. He stays balanced and has the ability to hit to all fields. He likes to turn on the inside pitch. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an easy arm action. Park has smooth mechanics that produces an 82 mph fastball. He mixes in a 65 mph curveball and a 71 mph slider. He gets life on his fastball and he throws strikes. Park has good upside to his overall game.
