JUCO Top 25: April 12

We saw a fair bit of movement within the Top 25 this week, though the top stayed the same for the most part. We've definitely reached the point in the season where we can tier out teams, and the top tier has proven themselves as the long term contenders for the various NJCAA crowns. Central Arizona, Walters State, LSU-Eunice, Florence-Darlington and Central Florida remain 1-5, the same as they were a week ago, as they all had big weeks that kept them in the top tier. LSU-Eunice, notably, is still unbeaten in 2023 at a staggering 39-0.

Santa Fe has yo-yo'd within the top 10 in recent weeks and find themselves back up this week at No. 6 overall, one off their season high mark. The Saints continue to have a monster year and sit at 35-3 overall. Johnson County is another team to start paying attention to from a Grand Junction perspective, they continue to roll through the state of Kansas beating everyone and are up to a 34-6 mark overall.

Gaston took another solid jump this week up to No. 13 overall as they continue playing well, sitting at 35-5 overall and just rolling through the Carolinas. Weatherford is likewise a big riser this week, up to No. 15 overall and jumping another nationally-ranked Texas team in the process, with their overall record at 31-7. We continue to monitor Crowder closely as well, who, after a bit of a slow start, is now 15-1 over their last 16 games and continue to climb. They are up to No. 20 this week, their highest rank in over a month.

Newcomers this week include Palomar out of SoCal, who, at 16-0 in conference and 25-5 overall are really standing out. Our other newcomer is NJCAA DII club Lansing out of Michigan with a 23-5 mark.
