Field of 64 Projection

We were just treated to an incredible regular season and the way things are lining up, the postseason could be one for the ages. With that said, we are ready to announce our projected regional seeding and complete “Field of 64” as we see it. Starting us off as the anticipated No. 1 National Seed, the Texas Longhorns ride the strength of their regular season SEC Championship to the coveted spot at the top. The SEC accounts for half of the host sights with (8) total and we have (12) teams from the nation’s top league making the field overall. The ACC is rewarded with (3) hosting opportunities and we project that North Carolina will be awarded a National Seed after their run to the ACC Conference Tournament title. Overall, we expect (10) clubs from the ACC to end up in the field, with Clemson and FSU also hosting. The Big 12 was a difficult conference to figure out this year, ultimately, no team was awarded a hosting opportunity, but we feel like they will land (7) teams in the field all told. The new look Big 10 was a highly scrutinized league this season and both Oregon and UCLA will host, and it appears that (4) clubs will find their way into the field. Meanwhile, the Sun Belt had their top two teams put together elite campaigns, so Coastal Carolina and Southern Miss will have the chance to host at least the first round. After that, Oregon State navigated their first season as an Independent well enough to be awarded what we think will be a National Seed. It is worth noting that for the first time since 1999, the ACC’s regular season champion, Georgia Tech, was not awarded the opportunity to host on the heels of this years unbalanced conference schedule.
