Break Down: Missouri walked away from the 2023 College showdown with a good taste in their mouths after they picked up back to back wins on days two and three to finish the weekend 2-1. After dropping a close game on opening day, the offense came to life Saturday and Sunday to back a pitching staff that found a way to keep enough runs off the board for wins over two teams that project to be in the thick of the Big 12 Championship race.

The top of the order really put the Tiger's offense in drive all week as they were able to consistently put runs on the board when they were given a chance. Luke Mann led the way from the lead off spot but guys like Taylor Chick and Ross Lovich also came through in big spots, showing some power as well as their ability to consistently find the barrel as a solid 1-2-3 in the order.

On the mound Game 1 starter Chandler Murphy got off to a bumpy start but was followed by lefties Ian Lohse and Javin Pimental who both gave the club three innings while dealing with some spotty command. Both Lohse and Pimental were able to work around some of the traffic though and come up with big outs to keep their team in it.

Best Player: On the mound the best stuff as well as performance came from Zach Franklin as the graduate transfer from Western Carolina made two appearances with a big three scoreless innings against TCU on Sunday night. He also showed one of the better fastballs running it up to 95 mph and mixing in the breaking ball off of that.

Offensively Luke Mann did it all for the Tigers. The lead off man showed barrel accuracy and power as his ability to get his barrel on the ball was more than impressive. Mann has a very short swing path to the point of contact and displayed an above average amount of strength in the contact zone as the ball really jumps off the barrel to the pull side.
