Entering the year as reigning champions, the Anchorage Glacier Pilots came out on a mission yet again. The Pilots put together a dominant regular season, losing just nine total games and taking home the regular season crown. The Mat-Su Miners put together a quality season as well, finishing just a few games back. The postseason bracket saw a bit of a change this year. Instead of a best-of-three series in the semi-final and championship rounds, the top four teams faced off in a single-elimination bracket. The Miners eliminated the Anchorage Bucs in walk-off fashion to advance to the championship round. On the other side of the bracket, the Pilots knocked off the Peninsula Oilers in another close game. In the end, the fire power of the Pilots was just too much as they took home their second consecutive Top of the World Championship title with a 6-2 win.
