Starting on the mound for Siege 18U Scout Team, Favyan Suarez (2022, Davie, Fla.) was terrific. A medium frame at 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, Suarez showed clean mechanics on the mound and worked out of a high three-quarters arm slot from the right side. The fastball featured a good amount of arm-side run and topped at 89 mph while sitting in the 85-87 mph range. The heater worked well up in the zone and got hitters to chase for swings and misses. Suarez also liked to mix in a mid-70s breaking ball that was tight and commanded throughout the zone resulting in whiffs. Through 3 innings of work, Suarez punched out 6 batters while allowing only 1 hit and no earned runs.
