Florida State Championship Scout Notes

Madden James (2026, Clearwater, Fla.) was a spark plug in the leadoff spot for the Florida Burn Tampa Blast. He scored 6 runs for his team and was on base at a .615 clip. Medium size build with a strong lower half. Displayed a short and compact stroke at the plate. His wide base and direct bat path leads to excellent barrel control as he squared balls up all over the strike zone. Maintained balance through contact. Showed a keen eye at the plate and rarely chased balls outside of the strike zone. James utilized his speed on the base paths by adding a stolen base and taking the extra bag when the situation called for it. Already has eight stolen bases on the young season. High level baseball instincts were evident throughout the entire tournament.
