The pitching performance of the weekend came from Twelve’s high-ceiling right-hander CJ Sampson (2026, Tomball, Texas), continuing to piece together an impressive track record heading into his much-anticipated prep career. Sampson spun a fun-to-watch perfect game in the championship game, earning him the MV-Pitcher of the event. His fastball took over in his outing displaying excellent command and working both sides of the zone with intent. He sat 82-85 mixing a tight action slider with late bite up to 75 controlling the zone with 73% strikes. Drawing plenty of swing and miss, he punched out 12-of-15 hitters allowing only three ball in play and cruised through a dominant five frames smoothly. High-end performance with talent on another level of his class by the No. 18 player in 2026. Sampson is already an exciting follow with rapid development that is going to bring a lot of attention as he continues to showcase loud and advanced stuff on the mound.
