JUCO Rankings Update: May 19

Given our two-week break from the Top 25 and all that has happened in that span, this week’s Top 25 looks radically different. Some teams experienced sudden, unexpected ends to their seasons while others came from seemingly out of nowhere to clinch postseason bids. The top, however, stayed much the same. 
 
We made a change at the top this week, with Wabash Valley taking the No. 1 spot from Walters State, who fell one spot to No. 2. Both schools are one step away from earning bids to Grand Junction. Crowder, Cowley, and Florence-Darlington all stayed the same in spots 3-5, with Flo-Dar having already clinched their bid to Grand Junction. 
 
Lansing takes over the top spot in NJCAA D-II, up to No. 6 overall and one step away from a World Series bid to Enid. They sit at 44-1, and are beating everyone. Eastern Oklahoma State at No. 7 will likely matchup with Crowder for one Grand Junction bid, in what is one of many intriguing regional matchups remaining. LSU-Eunice at No. 8, San Jacinto (has clinched their bid) at No. 9, and Central Arizona at No. 10 round out the top-10. Another fantastic regional matchup comes out west, where CAC will have to get through Yavapai and Southern Nevada. 
 
We welcomed some late-starters to the rankings this week, with two from California and two from the Pacific Northwest. Ohlone out of NorCal debuts at No. 13, Spokane from the NWAC debuts at No. 16, SoCal’s own Orange Coast checks in at No. 19, and Lower Columbia also debuts this week, at No. 21. 
 
Miami Dade at No. 14 and Shelton State at No. 17 have both clinched their bids to Grand Junction, winning the single-bid regions in Florida and Alabama, respectively.
