Uncommitted Gems: Four Corners

Brett Crossland, RHP, Phoenix, Ariz. 
Class of 2025 | PG Rank: 23

Crossland is not only one of the best uncommitted players in the Four Corners region, but in the entire country. The right-hander features a strong, XL frame at 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. The fastball works into the mid-90s with ride through the zone. The breaking ball continues to get better, showing sharp downward bite with swing and miss ability. Crossland has a chance to be one of the better arms in the entire 2024 class. 




Cj Mascaro, OF, Saratoga Springs, Utah

Mascaro is a young, athletic outfielder with a track record of performing. A smooth left-handed swing finds the barrel regularly. A strong frame combines with a lofted path to produce quality in-game power to all fields. Mascaro displays advanced athleticism that plays on the bases and defensively in center field. It is a high end profile that should only continue to get better. 

Maddox Riske, SS, Las Vegas, Nev.

Riske has been a steady performer throughout his first two years at Bishop Gorman and continued that into a strong summer and fall circuit. The middle infield displays loose, fluid hands at the plate with advanced barrel accuracy. Riske has the ability to drive balls hard to all fields with projectable power coming down the line. Athleticism and soft hands play well on the defensive side of the ball. It is an under the radar profile with some of the highest upside in the region. 

Ian Haines, C, Buckeye, Ariz. 
Class of 2024 | PG Rank: 500

Haines is a lean, athletic catcher with quality traits on both sides of the ball. The backstop possesses a strong catch-and-throw ability with the ability to halt a run game. At the plate, quick hands with good extension out front produces quality gap-to-gap power with more coming down the line. Athleticism plays on both sides of the ball and makes for a well-rounded profile.

Ball is a projectable, athletic right-hander with quality mechanics and stuff present. A short arm action hides the ball well before it jumps out of the hand at release. The fastball can work into the low-90s with ride through the zone. There is feel for an upper-70s curveball with some swing-and-miss ability. The stuff has been consistent throughout the summer and fall circuits, showing the ability to pound the zone and generate whiffs. The performance history and stuff make Ball one of the top arms out of Utah in the 2023 class. 

Wyatt Halvorson, RHP, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Halvorson is a strong, durable right-handed pitcher who has shown flashes of quality, swing and miss stuff. The fastball works into the low-90s with life through the zone. It tunnels well with a sharp curveball in the upper-70s, showing tight 12-6 action when spun well. It is an intriguing pitch mix to go along with a physical frame that will be able to compete at the next level. 

Nolan Eberwein, RHP/OF, Las Vegas, Nev.

Eberwein is a young, projectable player with strong two-way ability. On the bump, the right-hander can work the fastball into the upper-80s utilizing a simple delivery down the mound. There is present feel for a breaking ball that continues to get better. At the plate, Eberwein displays a loose left-handed swing with the ability to drive balls to all fields. A lanky build at 6-foot-3, 170 pounds projects well for more power at the plate and more velocity on the mound. 
 

Maddux Stahl, OF, Parker, Colo.

Stahl is a strong, physical outfielder with advanced athleticism that can display loud tools on both sides of the ball. Stahl possesses an impressive mix of power and speed that play well on the offensive side of the plate. A short, compact stroke produces hard hit balls often and advanced pull-side power. Plus speed plays on the bases and in the outfield where Stahl also possesses a strong arm. It is a toolsy package that can impact a game in a multitude of ways. 

Antonio Gianni, OF, Cave Creek, Ariz. 
Class of 2023 | PG Rank: 500

Gianni possesses a competitive mindset with the ability to contribute on both sides of the ball. There is a quality hit tool present with sound strike zone awareness and feel for the barrel. Gianni projects well for more power with quality gap-to-gap power already present. Athleticism allows for some defensive versatility, showing the ability to play the outfield and behind the plate when needed. 

Zane Burns, RHP/3B, Chandler, Ariz. 
Class of 2025 | PG Rank: 159

Burns is one of the more intriguing arms to come out of Arizona in the 2025 class. The young right-hander features a lean, projectable build that gets down the mound with tempo and athleticism. The fastball has been up to 89 mph with heavy arm-side run. It pairs well with a quality breaking ball that can generate whiffs. There is some two-way ability, as Burns shows feel for the barrel with quality pull-side power. 
 

Colton Boardman, SS, Las Vegas, Nev. 
Class of 2024 | PG Rank: 500

Boardman is a twitchy middle infielder with intriguing tools and athleticism on both sides of the ball. Confident actions on the dirt should allow Boardman to stick up the middle. A smooth, balanced left-handed swing finds the barrel often at the plate. There is quality strike zone awareness present and solid gap-to-gap power that should only continue to develop. Boardman is a consistent performer who can impact a game on both sides of the ball. 

Parker Jimenez, 1B, Fort Collins, Colo. 
Class of 2025 | PG Rank: 381

Jimenez possesses a strong, physical build capable of generating big-time power in the box. The left-handed hitting slugger utilizes a clean, lofted path while creating plenty of torque within. Jimenez showcases the ability to get on plane and get extended well out front. There is massive power upside, as the slugger could become a middle-of-the-order bat at the next level. 

Jett Walker, SS, Cedar Hills, Utah
Class of 2024 | PG Rank: 500

Walker is lean, athletic infielder with an intriguing mix of present tools and projectability. A simple right-handed swing finds the barrel regularly with the ability to get extended out front. There is quality pull-side power with plenty more coming down the line as more strength continues to be added. Walker has shown the ability to handle both shortstop and third base, but likely profiles best for the hot corner long term. 

Tate Southisene, 2B, Henderson, Nev. 
Class of 2025 | PG Rank: 136

Southisene is a young, twitchy infielder with fluidity throughout his game. Soft hands catch the ball well on the dirt with quick feet that profile well up the middle. Loose hands create barrel whip through the zone with good extension out front. There is advanced barrel accuracy present with the ability to manipulate it well. Southisene is an athletic player with intriguing tools for a young player. 

Ethan Zufall, RHP, Broomfield, Colo. 
Class of 2025 | PG Rank: 415

Zufall is a physical right-hander with the ability to repeat a smooth delivery down the mound. Quick arm speed helps produce an upper-80s fastball that gets on hitters. There is some natural cut to the offering. Zufall shows the ability to spin an upper-70s slider well, creating sharp, late bite. There is swing-and-miss stuff present that should only continue to get better as the young right-hander continues to develop. 

Julian Gallegos, SS, Las Cruces, N.M. 
Class of 2024 | PG Rank: 1000

Gallegos is an intriguing name out of New Mexico who has shown an advanced offensive skill set. He has a mature approach with advanced strike zone awareness that results in a high on-base profile. At the plate, a quick left-handed swing produces hard hit contact to all fields. There is sneaky power present despite a smaller build. It is a quality profile that can help a school at the next level.
