A Northeastern High School baseball players dream has finally come true.
Baseball Heaven has teamed up with Perfect Game USA in building a scout
league based in Suffolk County, Long Island. The league will give
ballplayers from the tri-state area an opportunity for enhanced exposure
in hopes of achieving college scholarships and beyond. The Perfect Game
Scout League, Long Island will be based out of Baseball Heaven, a
state-of-the-art complex that includes 4 turfed fields which all have
major league quality lights.
The league style format that includes playoffs and a Championship round
will include the top-competition from the tri-state area. Division
Champions will have an opportunity to receive a bid to a Perfect Game
Northeast Qualifier and/or a WWBA Championship Tournament held in East
Cobb, GA. "The goal of the league is to allow players to play on quality
facilities, play against quality competition, and aid in the exposure of
every player in the league," explains Dan Kennedy, the Northeast
Director for Perfect Game USA.
The league will include scouting reports on players which will be sent
to Perfect Game. Seattle Mariners Eastern Crosschecker, Paul Gibson,
who is also part of the new management team operating Baseball Heaven
feels, "this league will provide a unique opportunity for ballplayers in
the tri-state area to get the right type of exposure and help aid the
recruiting process tremendously."
The relationship between Perfect Game, the nations finest scouting
report service and one of the finest facilities in the Northeast is
truly a match made in Baseball Heaven.
