2010 Grads National Showcase

The 2010 Grads National Showcase starts play Saturday morning at Arrowhead Stadium in San Bernardino, California. Six teams of top young prospects from 12 states, including California, Florida, Texas and New York, will be showing off their tools and skills for the talent evaluators.

The event was called the “Rising Juniors” National Showcase in 2007. It ended up featuring six players who would end up to be named Aflac All-Americans this year: IF David Nick, RHP-3B Brooks Pounders, 1B Jonathan Singleton, IF Jiovanni Mier, 3B Matt Davidson and C Andrew Susac.

Many other players who ended up participating at the 2008 Perfect Game National Showcase were also first seen at the 2007 event.

Among the top players already evaluated by the Perfect Game scouts who will be playing this weekend are:

RHP Matt Blanchard (Mater Dei HS, CA): Touching 90 mph this summer

OF Frank Christian (Upland HS, CA): Can rake, early verbal to USC

C Bryce Harper (2011/Las Vegas HS): Athletic phenom, may be the best HS prospect in the country regardless of class.

SS Brett Harrison (2011/Green Valley HS, NV): Talented younger brother of Matt Harrison (North Carolina)

OF Travis Harrison (2011/Tustin HS, CA): Very impressive power, mature bat

C Jake Hernandez (Los Osos HS, CA): Excellent defensive catcher, 2008 PG National.

C Jeff Jackson (Lake Zurich HS, IL): Excelled in PG events as 8th grader, keeps getting better.

SS Christian Lopes (2011/Valencia HS, CA): One of the top 2011’s in the country.

C Stefan Sabol (Aliso Niquel HS, CA): Stands out among catchers as an athlete.
