2005 World Showcase
David McChesney is a 2005 outfielder from Kenner, Louisiana, with a 5'10", 205 lb. frame. Defensively he has very good arm strength (87 OF) with solid actions. There is some effort in his throws, but that may have been him pressing a bit during the workout. He threw a runner out at the plate from left field during one of the showcase games with a very good throw. At the plate he has a good set up with a no load approach. McChesney shows good bat speed with a line drive swing plane and very good hand strength. He has excellent power potential, and also has the ability to shorten up and go the other way with good hand adjustments. McChesney collected 3 hits in 5 at bats during the showcase, and used the entire field. He is a good student.
