Kopp was one of the most polished pitchers at the PG National. He’s got a nice, loose athletic body with long loose arms. Kopp didn’t show the pure arm speed, but his looseness and wide variety of present pitches makes him a very attractive prospect to both the college coaches and professional scouts. The arm speed might have been better as he may have been pitching with a somewhat tired arm. His summer team "The POKERS" were playing in a tournament at the same time. Kopp throws most of his pitches from a variety of arm angles, ranging from mid to low ¾’s and even sidearm. His fastball ranges from 86 to 89 mph and he gets better sink the lower his arm angle gets. Kopp’s best secondary pitch is a very nice change up that gets better and better the lower his release point gets, especially with the extra movement. Kopp stays with the higher slots for his 73 mph curveball and will often get a hard, sharp bite to this pitch. His 78 slider comes from the lowest slot and is more of just a show pitch at this point. With the different arm angles and the variety of movement that Kopp can get, it’s functionally like having six or seven different pitches. He mixes his pitches thoroughly, too, rarely offering the same pitch from the same release point on consecutive pitches. At a well distributed 6'3/185 with room to get stronger, Kopp projects in a big way. He should end up being a mid 90s guy before long. He's going to stir up a lot of interest with MLB clubs and top level college programs. David is a very good student.

Outstanding "04" pitching prospect. One of the very best! Great body that still projects. 90 mph heater with some sink. Live arm out of a nice 3/4 slot. Breaking ball at 76 that is very promising. Real good change, a real mover and very deceptive. He is going to get mega attention from scouts. The real deal!
