Taylor Shanahan is a 2008 MIF/OF with a 5'6'', 140 lb. frame from Great Falls MT, who attends Great Falls HS. He has a small frame and somewhat compact body type. Shanahan is going to have to get stronger and when he does all his abilities will stand out more clearly. Offensively he hits with a slightly open stance and showed good hands, with a nice trigger. Shanahan is a contact hitter, with a nice swing, good timing, and good plate coverage. He hits with some rhythm and overall, possesses the qualities of a good hitter. Defensively he flows to the ball well and showed a good infielder release. His hands are soft and in general he showed himself to be a solid and steady 2nd baseman. His tools may be a bit limited in terms of upside, but he is a good ballplayer.
