David Gagnon -- Gagnon is a junior catcher from Massachusetts with a slender, wiry body. Gagnon is a contact type hitter who did a very good job in games of hitting the ball solidly, lining 3 hits and reaching base 2 other times. More upper body and hand strength will improve Gagnon’s bat speed but he already has the ability to put the bat head on the ball. Gagnon has good arm strength and would improve his pop times immediately if he moved towards second base when he throws instead of popping straight up. Gagnon has some lower body life and moves well behind the plate. He’s an excellent student who should attract the attention of some of the top academic schools. Projects in a large way!

Gagnon is a projectable 6 foot catcher with a thin frame that has plenty of development ahead. He already shows good ablity with a 2.12 pop time and some foot-quickness. His bat showed well with the only glitch being the weight of the big wood bat he used. He hit well in batting practice took the ball to all fields and got involved in many unique plays where he showed lots of baseball talent. Blocking a crucial throw to home, taking 2B on an overthrow and making an inning ending tag to name a few. He was selected to the Top Prospect game and we think he is going to make big strides in the coming year. David is a very good student.

05 with some arm strength behind the plate. The rest of his game should develop as he grows and gets stronger. He has a nice frame to fill into and lots of time to do it.
