Doss is an "05" SS/P from Florida. At 5'10/175 he has a strong athletic baseball body. Defensively: he showed excellent actions with good feet, nice soft hands and a very strong (plus) arm. He does not run (straight away) extra fast, but he has outstanding instincts. Pitching: Throws FB, CB, CH and split. He throws from a 3/4 slot with a loose, live arm that creates an explosive action on his fastball that makes his velocity look even higher than the 86-89 range he throws in. His curve is 68-70 with a tight 12-6 rotation and late life. His change is 75-76 with hand side life. Promising future. At the plate: Right handed hitter who crowds the plate and spins. Good on inside pull balls. Slight hand drop on moving to launch position. Good balance throughout swing with good finish. Quick bat with strong hands. Very good swing path. College level hitter already, who should only get better. Top prospect, ball jumps off the wood. Add to everything else David is a 4.2 student with a 30 ACT. Big time college player and he's only a junior!!!!
