Timothy Corbin is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Murrells Inlet, SC who attends St James HS. He has a big frame with some strength and also some softness in the middle and lower half. Corbin has a full, hands over head delivery that comes through to a cross fire low 3/4's release point that is sometimes even nearer to sidearm. There's lots of deception in Corbins delivery and he looks like a very uncomfortable at bat for left handed hitters in particular. Corbin's fastball topped out at 84 mph and had very good running life with his release point and mechanics. Corbin's change up showed plenty of quality and deception once he got a feel for it. He threw both a curveball and a slider as breaking balls. The curveball was soft and loose and was a giveaway pitch he should throw less. The slider was late and sharp at times and should be thrown more. Corbin didn't have bad command but tended to nibble and pitch away from contact. His stuff was good and deceptive and he needs to trust it more and pitch aggressively in the strike zone and work ahead. He could be an interesting southpaw in the right college situation. Corbin is an outstanding student off the field.
