John Hooker is a 2010 RHP/1B/OF with a 6'2", 190 lb frame from Palm City, FL who attends Martin County HS. John has a very good build for his age with a tall athletic frame. On the mound John throws from an OH arm slot with a short two-piece arm action. He has a good compact delivery and gets a nice downhill plane on his pitches. John flashes an 11 to 5 curveball with some depth, but he needs to make sure he stays on top of the pitch. At the plate John is very raw, but he does show solid bat speed and good present strength in his swing. He gets very long in his swing and really collapses his backside. In the field John has solid actions and does everything fairly well. John is a good student that should attract the attention of many mid to high-level college programs.
