Pete Perez is a 2008 RHP/IF with a 5'8'', 165 lb. frame from West Sacramento CA, who attends River City HS. He has an average body and an average build. In his three innings Perez performed quite well, giving up no runs and only one hit, with two strikeouts. Perez has a pretty loose are and clean arm stroke. His delivery is patient and he has good body control, allowing him to repeat his delivery and throw quality strikes. Perez has sneaky stuff, with a fastball that sat 76-78 mph, but had hitters swinging late. His rolling curveball (63 mph) has some depth and he was able to start bats with it. He is not afraid to compete to the zone and trusts his stuff. Perez also has a change-up. At the plate he flashed a nice looking swing and made decent barrel contact. He is a bit limited by his physicallity, which will go a long way to determining his ceiling as a college player.
