Patrick Odum is a 2008 RHP/3B/OF/1B with a 6'2'', 195 lb. frame from Stockton CA, who attends St Mary's HS. He has a broad, thick build and some present day strength. Odum is a strike throwing pitcher. His success comes from starting bats, using hitters' aggressiveness against them, changing speeds, and upsetting the timing of hitters. He does what good pitchers are supposed to do, though his stuff is still developing. Odum does have a pretty loose arm and long arm action, though his arm speed needs to improve to gain velocity. He showed three pitches and was able to freeze hitters with his slow change-up. His curveball has rolling action and induced some rollover swings. At the plate he showed a flat swing plane and a pull approach, hitting numerous line drives in the BP round.
