2006 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Quin Myer is a 2007 C/OF with a 6'1'', 192 lb. frame from Greenwell Springs LA, who attends Central High. He has a very strong and athletic body. Myer ran the 60 in 7.28, good speed for his size and position, and threw 75 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.02. He also showed nice arm strength from the outfield at 83 mph with a quick release. Myer's defensive fundamentals both behind the plate and in the outfield were very raw and he was getting by on pure athletic ability at both positions. Offensively, Myer hits from a very open stance with low and loose hands to start his swing. He has an aggressive, pull oriented upper cut swing and does a good job keeping his swing short and through the ball. Like his fielding, Myer's hitting skills are raw and he gets by because of his athletic ability. In the right coaching/playing situation Myer could really improve given his strength and raw tools.
