Alex Ernsberger is a 2006 OF/C from Tecumseh High School in Brooklyn, MI, with a 6'0'', 160 lb. frame. Ernsberger showed very good speed running a 6.96 sixty on a very slow and wet track. He also showed his quickness in the outfield as well as from home to first when he was timed running a 4.23. His speed helps him cover a lot of ground in the outfield allowing him to play centerfield. At the plate he is a switch hitter with a no stride and no load approach from both sides. Ernsberger gets better extension in his swing from the left side, and has a line drive swing plane from both sides. He doesn't try to do too much. Ernsberger is just looking to put the ball in play and uses his speed to make things happen. He is also a very good student.

Alex Ernsberger is a 2006 OF/C from Tecumseh HS in Brooklyn, MI, with a 6'0'', 160 lb. frame. He has a good athletic build with present strength. Defensively, he moves well laterally with quick feet and smooth actions. He has good blocking skills and receives the ball with soft hands. He has quick fluid actions and a smooth transfer. He runs well with a 6.90 in the 60, and he is a smart baserunner. He is a switch hitter with a similar approach from both sides of the plate. He has a no load, no stride approach with active hands and a good weight transfer into contact. He has a line drive swing plane with good bat speed. He makes solid contact and shows gap level power potential. He is a very interesting prospect with solid tools and good potential at the next level. Alex is a good student.

Ernsberger is a 6-0, 165 lb switch hitting senior catcher from Michigan with above average speed and agility for his position. He ran the 60 in 7.09 and turned in a 4.20 time to first base from the right side when he was rolling out of the box on a ground ball to second base. Ernsberger is a hustling player who likes to use his speed, too. Ernsberger threw 70 mph from behind the plate in drills with a best pop time of 2.06. He shifts and blocks well behind the plate. Ernsberger also plays some outfield. At the plate, Ernsberger shows a similar approach from both sides. He has a contact oriented swing with a bit more smoothness and extension from the left side. He profiles to a leadoff/top of the order spot in the line up. Ernsberger will keep improving offensively with more strength. He is a good student.

Alex Ernsberger is a 2006 catcher/outfielder from Brooklyn, Michigan, with a good body at 6'0", 160 pounds. He is a switch hitter with more natural right handed ability. He hits from a straight stance with good balance throughout his swing. He has a short hand load with a long stride and slight weight shift into contact. He has a level swing plane with some lift and a high two handed finish. He has good control of the bat and uses the whole field consistently. He has good bat speed, and he showed power to the pull side. He showed very good foot speed with a 4.88 in the 40 yard dash, and a 4.29 home to first. Defensively, he has quick and fluid actions with smooth transfers which resulted in a 2.16 pop time. He showed good blocking skills with quick feet and good lateral movement to both sides. He is a good overall athlete and with his speed may even play the outfield at the next level. Alex is also a very good student.
