2006 Mid-Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Brian Goddard is a 2007 RHP that attends Jefferson Forest HS and resides in Forest, VA with a 5'10", 140 lb. frame. Brian has a very lean build with a lot of room to fill out. When he gets stronger and adds velocity he shows a lot of promise on the mound. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short loose arm action. Brian has some nice cut action on his fastball and is very efficient with his pitches with good command. He has a very nice 12 to 6 downer CB and a nice straight change-up. Brian was the most polished pitcher at the event and once his velocity picks up some he will be a solid prospect. At the plate Brian is mainly a contact hitter at this point and it is evident his future is on the mound. Brian has the potential to be a solid mid-level college prospect.
