2006 Mid-Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Ragan Rudisil is a 2008 OF/RHP that attends Jefferson Forrest HS and resides in Forest, VA with a 5'11", 160 lb. frame. Ragan has a lean athletic build and showed good versatility at the showcase. He has an easy swing at the plate with a nice swing plane. Ragan will dip his shoulder some causing him to lift the ball too much. In the outfield Ragan is quick to the ball with a short arm circle. He could project at either corner outfield position, but his highest upside appears to be on the mound. Ragan throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short loose arm action. He has a quick live arm that produces good run on his fastball. His best pitch looks to be a hammer 12 to 6 curveball and he also features a good-looking straight changeup. Ragan is a little raw in terms of pitchability but has very good upside on the mound. He should attract the attention of many mid to high-level college programs.
