Cory Hodskins is a 6'3", 175 lb. shortstop from Lexington, Kentucky. In the field he showed very good ground ball technique and fielded the ball cleanly out front with soft hands and good footwork. His projectable body may make him better suited for third base as he fills in. Cory showed solid arm strength with 79 mph throws across the diamond with good carry. His feet are not fast, but they work well on defense and he gets in good position. He's worth following on the basis of his projectable athletic body and defensive tools. The bat is supposed to be his best tool, but we didn't get a good chance to see it enough to grade it. Cory is an excellent student..

Cory Hodskins is a 2005, 6'3" right handed hitting infielder from Lexington, KY, with very good physical projection. He took one of the best batting practices of the showcase, showing a good approach with serious bat speed and good extension. Hodskins followed up with good game at bats as well. He stays on the ball confidently with a pull type of approach and hits the ball hard. Additional strength will mean that Hodskins could develop some real nice raw power. Defensively, Hodskins has smooth actions and soft hands. He shows good instincts and first step quickness. His arm will play at any infield position. Overall, this is a nice young to keep a close eye on. He projects in a big way both physically and as an athlete. Cory is an excellent student.
