It is a peg type arm stroke which allows for a quick release. Offensively Ventura hits from a square stance and possesses a short swing with balance and a good opposite field approach. Generally, he is willing to take what is the pitcher is giving, whether that is a base knock through the four hole or spinning on a mistake. He is a good contact hitter and will make a solid two-hole type at the college level, so long as he continues to understand who he is in the game. Ventura understands the two strike approach and is a good situational hitter. He is a good student and should be followed closely by programs that have a need for a second baseman. If he gets a chance, Ventura will find his way into the line-up sooner or later.
