He hits from an open stance with high hands and looks to pull the ball. Lanagan has solid hands with a line drive approach and makes consistent solid contact at the plate. He does stride open at times and his backside will collapse. He has a low transfer behind the plate with a solid 2.06 pop time. Ryan has solid footwork and solid receiving skills. His pop time will improve as his release and transfer get quicker. He is an excellent student.

He hits from a straight stance and has solid hands at the plate. He does a nice job using the whole field when he hits. Lanagan has an accurate arm behind the plate with a solid 2.16 pop time. He made a great diving play in game actions and works hard behind the plate. Ryan is an excellent student.
