2005 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Cody Whitlow is a 2006 3B/C/OF with a 6'3'', 200 lb. frame from Tampa FL, who attends Sickles HS. He has a strong body and a solid build. Whitlow ran the 60 in 7.29 and showed quick feet and nice lateral actions on defense at third base. He has some shoulder stiffness on his throws but has playable arm strength across the diamond. Offensively, Whitlow has a short line drive swing with good bat speed. He attacks the ball aggressively and knows how to use his hands to get the bat head to the ball. Whitlow back spun some balls that carried well and projects power in the future. He looks like a solid hitter for the next level. Whitlow is also a good student off the field.
