2006 Mid-Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Brent Moreland is a 2007 RHP/OF that attends Perry Hall HS and resides in Baltimore, MD with a 6'2", 175 lb. frame. Brent has a tall athletic build with a little bit of room to fill out. On the mound Brent throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm circle. Brent has a nice downhill plane on his pitches and is very quick to the plate. His fastball is a little straight at this time and he might want to try and mix up his grips some. Brent will need to work on mixing up his pitches a little more as he became a little predictable at times. At the plate Brent is primarily a contact hitter at this point. He really needs to shorten his swing plane up and work on his balance at the plate. In the outfield Brent will need to work going after the ball quicker. First base might be Brent's best option at this point. Brent is a player that could attract the attention of some smaller college programs.
