Travis Johnson is a 2007 SS/3B with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Alpharetta GA, who attends Milton HS. He has a medium frame with projectable strength. Johnson's best tools are with the bat and he shows the ability to develop into a solid hitter at the next level. He hits from a wide stance with good balance and load. Johnson has very quick wrists and gets the bat head into the zone quickly. He showed consistent gap to gap power both in batting practice and in the games and really squares up on the ball well and takes quality swings. He has a line drive swing plane now but could develop some power potential as he fills out. Defensively, Johnson has good quick feet and circles the ball well and gets into position to throw the ball. He's a straight backed fielder who tends to flip the ball in his throwing motion and gets little extension. He threw 76 mph during infield drills. His actions and arm strength are best suited for second base but his bat will be a real asset there. Johnson is a very good student.
