Christopher Kievit is a 2006 catcher/first baseman from Don Bosco Prep in Wayne, New Jersey, with a strong 5'11"/200 pound frame. Christopher has a quick transfer from behind the plate with quick feet. He has a solid 2.06 pop time and is a good defensive catcher. As a right handed hitter, Kievit showed a good approach at the plate with a balanced and slightly open stance. He has very good bat speed with strength in his swing. Christopher is a good hitter with good raw power. Kievit is also a good student.

Kievit is a 5-11, 200 lb senior catcher from New Jersey with good present strength and maturity. He's a 7.45 runner in the 60 but was very impressive running the bases, where his speed is more evident. He took an extra base when he got a chance during the showcase games. Kievit is a high energy catcher who blocks and receives the ball well. He showed solid arm strength at 76 mph and had a best pop time of 1.98. Pitchers probably like throwing to Kievit with his approach to the game. Offensively, Kievit has a long, aggressive all or nothing swing that can show plus raw power or air condition the infield, depending on whether he makes contact. The ball jumps off his bat hard and he had one rocket double off the left field wall that got out there in a hurry. Kievit is a talented young catcher with present strength and a hard nosed, high energy, confident approach to the game. He'll make a solid receiver at the next level. Kievit is also a good student.

Kievit is a junior catcher from New Jersey with excellent present strength throughout his body. He’s also done a very good job of maintaining his flexibility and quickness and is even a good runner underway (7.17). Kievit stood out with the bat. He has an aggressive swing that creates leverage to all fields and uses his above average hand strength to create bat speed. Kievit’s ability to stay short to the ball means that he could be a high average hitter who also hits for impressive power. Defensively, Kievit showed very good arm strength (77 mph) and quick actions behind the plate. He has been taught well on catching fundamentals and learned his lessons. Kievit also impressed us as a hustling type of player with advanced baseball instincts in all parts of the game. Kievit also made a relief appearance, pitching at 79-81 mph with nice cutting and sinking action on his fastball. Overall, this is a young prospect who is solid in all aspects of the game. Kievit is also a good student.
