Kristopher Rentfro is a 2009 1B/OF with a 5'10'', 180 lb. frame from Riverside CA, who attends Riverside Poly HS. He has a strong, compact body type and minimal physical projection, even as a young player. However, Rentfro looks like he will develop into a solid college level hitter. He hits from a slightly closed stance and employs a rotational style of hitting. His hands are quick, though he tends to swing with his arms, making certain pitches more troublesome for him. Rentfro did show the ability to hit pitches in his zone hard and the ball comes off his bat well when he was on time, which was more often than not. Defensively his feet worked pretty well around the bag and he should be an adequate defenisve player. He may be moved off 1st someday due to his height and that may push him to left field. Rentfro looks like he just might hit enough as a corner position player at the college level. He is an outstanding student too.
