Christopher Epps is a 2007 OF/P with a 6'1'', 167 lb. frame from Stone Mountain GA, who attends Dunwoody HS. He has a lean, wiry body that hasn't begun to fill out much yet but that has good strength potential. Epps has performed at a high level all summer and continued to show his tools at the showcase. He has very quick hands at the plate that create plus bat speed but keep his swing short and to the ball. Epps hits line drives to all fields and while he's shown power this summer, he's more of a gap to gap type now. The power will come down the road as he fills out. Epps will occasionally drift into balls with his upper body, causing his bat to drag through the zone a bit. Defensively, Epps is one of the best outfielders in the 2007 class. He has an excellent throwing arm with on line carry and accuracy. He moves through the ball very well and gets rid of it quickly. Epps 6.92 speed isn't ideal for centerfield but he has the instincts to play there at the next level. Epps is a hustling, high energy player and very personable off the field. He has committed to Clemson.

Christopher Epps is a 2007 left hand hitting outfielder from Dunwoody HS, residing in Stone Mountain, GA. Epps has athletic, lean, wiry strong build on a 6'1" 167 lb. frame that is developing quite nicely over the last year. He was ranked #46 among PG National Top 100 position players and showed that his development curve is on a rapid upward climb. Among all the players at PG National that have been seen by the PG staff, Epps may have been the most impressive from last summer to this. Even more impressive was what he did the following week in Joplin. Keep a close eye on him, he looks like he is going to have a monster senior year. Epps has plus bat speed and has always been able to get to the pull side quite easily. He has a flat swing plane and is now creating a lot of spin off his bat, resulting in tremendous carry, especially to the opposite field. The ball was flying off his bat at PG National and he just does not look like he has the kind of power that he does have. His hands are strong and he accelerates through contact as well as any player in the '07 class. His swing is so easy and lively. Epps stays behind the ball well and has plus balance at contact. His line drives are now carrying over outfielders heads and in the coming years he is going to be hitting a lot of home runs and doubles, to all fields. He can flat out hit and is a budding BIG TIME bat. In the outfield Epps shows off a quick arm with plus raw arm strength. The ball gets out of his hand easily and his arm stroke is clean, though a bit long. He is a very good corner outfielder and can cover enough ground to play centerfield. Epps ran 4.30 home/1st and posted a 7.05 60 yard time. He looks like he would be a better runner than he is, but now that he is hitting with that type of power potential, his running is less of a concern. He is a middle of the line-up bat, and someday should settle into somone's three hole. Epps could be one of the high risers for this coming draft and should get early first day consideration. If he ends up in college, he is a threat to hit near .400 by the time he leaves school.

Christopher Epps is a 2007 OF/P from Dunwoody High School in Stone Mountain, GA, with a 6'1'', 167 lb. frame. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Epps is a lean and athletic player with lively actions. He has very good speed and quickness that he uses well on the bases and in the outfield. He glides to the ball, and has a very strong arm with great online carry to his throws. Epps has high level defensive skills. At the plate he has plus bat speed from the left side with a smooth and easy swing. The ball jumps off the bat on contact and he can drive the gaps currently, with more power to come in the future. Epps uses his hands well to make adjustments showing very good bat control. He has all the attributes of a top of the order hitter who can make things happen. On the mound he throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with a long and loose arm. He gets great life on his fastball that topped out at 83 mph, and he mixes in a curveball at 68 mph and a change at 74 mph with good arm side fade. Epps has great upside on the field, and is a good student as well.

Chris Epps is a 6-1/165 lb junior outfielder from Stone Mountain, GA. He posted a 6.96 sixty time and 4.47 home to first base speed. Epps is a left handed hitter with very good bat speed and an advanced approach at the plate. He has a short and powerful stroke with nice coiling loading action and knows how to use his hands and go after the ball. Defensively, Epps shows pro level arm strength at 86 mph and is very good fundamentally at getting set and making accurate throws. His speed gives him the chance to play centerfield down the road. He has a projectable body and should improve across the board as he adds strength. Epps also pitched a bit and threw 78 mph from a low 3/4's to side arm release point that didn't utilize his pure arm strength. Epps has a good chance to become a national level follow and should be watched closely. He is also a good student.
