2004 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Christian Gonzalez: Gonzalez is a 5-9 middle infielder from Brooklyn with quick feet and smooth, easy defensive actions. The hops on the Brooklyn ball fields probably aren’t too much smoother than in the Dominican Republic and he’s learned how to field the ball. Gonzalez generates some bat speed for his size and should be able to handle the metal bat well at the college level. Overall this is a nice ball player with some skills who deserves a chance at the college level. Gonzalez also threw an inning at the showcase, touching 78 mph with a sharp curveball.
