Patrick James is a 2008 SS/P with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Santa Clara CA, who attends Bellarmine College Prep. He has an average athletic build on a medium, average frame. James is a steady, solid ballplayer with solid, playable abilities. He showed a quick bat and a short swing, starting from an open stance. He has a nice relaxed set-up and his hands (and wrists) work well from that set-up. James swing is easy and balanced. He showed good timing and the ability to get the barrel on the ball. Defensively his hands and feet work steadily. He threw accurately and his release can play at 2nd base. James has good defensive fundamentals. He is a solid student and solid ballplayer.
